Rookie Watch: Week of August 20, 2026

Rookie Watch – August 20, 2026

Preseason is peaking, and rookie ADP is on the move. With depth charts clarifying and beat reporters dialed in, risers and fallers are separating from the pack. Here’s who’s trending—and why—for dynasty managers keeping a sharp eye on long-term value.

---

## Risers

Cyrus Allen (WR, KC) — +1172 Allen is the buzziest riser of August, making noise as Patrick Mahomes’ favorite deep threat in camp. He’s stacking splash plays with the second team and is rumored to have leapfrogged veterans for a top-three WR role. The Chiefs’ WR room is wide open, and Allen’s field-stretching speed could make him a sustainable flex play with big-play upside.

Ja'Kobi Lane (WR, BAL) — +1003 Lane’s size and red-zone dominance are translating smoothly to the Ravens’ offense, where Lamar Jackson has been targeting him heavily in high-leverage drills. With Rashod Bateman’s future in flux, Lane could carve out a starting spot sooner than expected. Dynasty managers should buy in—his role looks sticky.

Drew Allar (QB, PIT) — +970 Allar is making a serious push for the starting job, impressing with poise and arm talent during preseason games. Pittsburgh’s new-look offense under a creative coordinator is a good fit, and Allar’s dynasty appeal is surging as a potential long-term answer. The trajectory is real if he wins the Week 1 job.

Carson Beck (QB, ARI) — +732 Beck has quickly acclimated to the Cardinals’ high-tempo attack, showing decisive reads and chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr. He’s outplaying expectations and could lock in as Arizona’s starter behind an improved O-line. If his camp momentum translates, the value jump is sustainable.

## Fallers

Jordyn Tyson (WR, NO) — -414 Tyson’s slide is tied to a quiet camp and the Saints’ crowded receiver room. He’s struggled to separate from middling competition and is losing first-team reps to veterans. Unless his preseason usage spikes, Tyson’s early hype is at risk of fading for 2026.

Travis Hunter (WR, JAX) — -384 Hunter’s much-hyped transition to full-time WR has hit some bumps—he’s missed time with minor injuries and hasn’t built quick rapport with Trevor Lawrence. He still offers tantalizing upside, but immediate production looks less likely, pressuring his lofty dynasty value.

Elijah Sarratt (WR, BAL) — -384 Sarratt’s stock is falling as Ja’Kobi Lane surges. Struggling to stand out in camp, Sarratt has slipped to the back of the WR rotation, and his path to fantasy relevance is narrowing. He’s a hold in deep leagues but losing momentum quickly.

Tetairoa McMillan (WR, CAR) — -337 McMillan remains highly valued but has hit a rookie wall during Panthers’ camp, with drops and inconsistent route-running. He’s still penciled in for a major role, but the early hiccups are a reminder of the risks that come with banking on rookie production, even for blue-chip prospects.
