AJ Barner holds a 33.1% edge in Superflex dynasty value.Updated 10/2/2026
Barner’s value is almost entirely insulated by age and price: he’s 3 years younger and already valued ~28% higher despite not being established. Seattle’s TE room has lacked a long-term difference-maker, so a path to meaningful snaps/targets can open quickly if he earns the every-down role. In dynasty, betting on the younger TE with runway at a similar “replaceable TE” tier is often the better asymmetrical upside play.
Otton is the safer bet to give you usable weeks because he’s already an NFL starter with a clearer weekly snap/route floor. He’s more likely than Barner to be on the field in high-leverage situations (red zone, third downs) simply due to experience and role certainty. If you just need a plug-and-play TE2 without paying much, Otton’s lower cost can be efficient.
Otton if you need immediate usable points; otherwise take the higher-valued, younger Barner and spend elsewhere for weekly TE stability.
Barner—age and potential role growth matter more than Otton’s modest floor in a rebuild.
At this price tier both are replaceable, but I lean Barner on market value + age unless you specifically need 2026 weekly floor.
Worth more?
Barner is worth more right now (your SF valuations show ~28% premium) and I’d side with the market unless you’re buying pure 2026 floor.
Trade?
If you roster Otton, I’d try to tier up to Barner plus a small sweetener (or take Barner straight up); if you roster Barner, I’d only move down to Otton for an added pick.
Superflex?
In SF, neither moves the needle like QBs, so prioritize them only as cheap TE depth—Barner for upside, Otton for short-term stability.
