THE CASE FOR OLAVE

Olave is the cleaner bet to keep producing WR2-with-WR1-spike weeks right now: he’s already proven he can earn targets and win at all three levels regardless of game script. His route running and separation translate year to year, and he’s less projection-dependent than most young WRs. If you’re trying to score points immediately, Olave’s weekly role/usage profile is typically easier to trust than a still-ascending peer.

THE CASE FOR SMITH-NJIGBA

JSN is the archetype dynasty wants: younger, high-end prospect profile, and a path to being the long-term target leader as Seattle’s receiving room turns over. His underneath/slot dominance can translate into elite volume seasons if/when he becomes the primary read, giving him a higher ceiling in PPR-friendly builds. The market already values him materially above Olave (56.8% gap), and that liquidity matters if you may reroll later.

VERDICT BY TEAM SITUATION

If you're contending:

Olave if you need reliable 2026 points and don’t want to pay the JSN premium; JSN only if you’re already deep and can absorb variance for a higher long-run ceiling.

If you're rebuilding:

JSN for age, insulated value, and a clearer multi-year runway to becoming the offense’s centerpiece.

If value is close:

In a vacuum I prefer JSN at a 56.8% value gap, but I’d take Olave straight-up only if I’m pushing chips in and the extra points matter weekly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Worth more?

JSN is worth more by market and should remain more insulated given age and upside.

Trade?

If you have Olave, I’d only pivot to JSN with a sweetener on top; if you have JSN, I’m not trading down to Olave unless I’m getting a meaningful add (pick/young starter).

Superflex?

SF doesn’t change the Olave-vs-JSN order much, but it does mean the “sweetener” is ideally a 1st/2nd or a QB-value type asset rather than a low-leverage piece.
