THE CASE FOR SCHULTZ

Schultz is tied to C.J. Stroud and an ascending Texans offense that should stay high-volume and efficient for the next several years. His weekly role is typically stable (routes/snap share) and his cost comes at a meaningful discount to the elite-tier TEs, making him a strong points-per-dollar buy. If Houston’s target tree consolidates (injuries/role changes), Schultz has a clear path to top-6 TE weeks without needing spike TD rates.

THE CASE FOR ANDREWS

Andrews is one of the few tight ends with proven overall TE1 upside thanks to consistent red-zone usage and the ability to command high-end target share when healthy. In Baltimore, he’s still the primary middle-of-field and scoring-area option for Lamar Jackson, giving him weekly difference-making ceiling that Schultz rarely matches. The 21.9% value premium is often justified because Andrews can single-handedly win matchups at a scarce position.

VERDICT BY TEAM SITUATION

If you're contending:

Pay up for Mark Andrews if you’re pushing for a title and need week-winning TE ceiling; Schultz is the budget alternative if you need to preserve assets.

If you're rebuilding:

Take Schultz plus the value gap (pick/player) since both are ~30 and Andrews’ premium is harder to recoup during a rebuild.

If value is close:

Andrews is the better bet to outscore by enough to matter, but at a 21.9% gap I’d only pay it if you’re a clear contender and thin at TE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Worth more?

Mark Andrews is worth more in dynasty because his top-end target/TD ceiling is rarer and more bankable.

Trade?

If you have Schultz, try to tier up by adding a 2nd (or equivalent) to get Andrews; if you have Andrews, ask for Schultz plus a 2nd/young depth piece.

Superflex?

In SF, the calculus doesn’t change much for TEs, but the extra pick/value you add to Schultz to get Andrews should be slightly harder to justify versus upgrading QB/RB/WR.
