DeVonta Smith holds a 15.7% edge in Superflex dynasty value.Updated 9/23/2026
Smith has bankable weekly floor/ceiling because he wins vs man and zone, earns targets at all three levels, and stays on the field in every package. He’s attached to an elite offensive environment and has shown he can produce even as a 1B alongside another alpha. The current ~10% dynasty value premium is justified by his combination of durability, role stability, and fewer week-killing down games.
Higgins offers the cleaner path to true alpha volume if/when he’s the unquestioned WR1 (either in CIN if circumstances change or elsewhere), and his size profile gives him spike-week TD upside. He’s tethered to Joe Burrow, and when healthy he’s proven he can command high-value targets (RZ, downfield) that swing matchups. At a discount to Smith, he’s the better bet if you’re hunting ceiling and are willing to take on more availability/role volatility.
Prefer DeVonta Smith for contenders because his week-to-week reliability and lower injury/availability risk play better in start/sit and playoff formats.
Prefer Tee Higgins in a rebuild if you’re aiming for a value-inefficiency bet that could appreciate with a clearer WR1 runway.
This is close enough that team build and risk tolerance should decide, but the market’s slight lean to Smith is reasonable.
Worth more?
DeVonta Smith is worth more today by about a late 2nd/early 2nd-equivalent in most dynasty markets.
Trade?
If you have Higgins, I’d move him straight up for Smith; if you have Smith, I’d only pivot to Higgins if you’re getting a meaningful plus (e.g., an added 2nd).
Superflex?
In superflex the WR-vs-WR gap stays similar, but both are more “tier pieces” you use to balance QB/RB builds than true difference-makers relative to top QBs.
