Values are nearly even — within 5% of each other.Updated 9/17/2026
Andrews has already proven league-winning TE1 ceilings in Baltimore’s offense and still carries the best bet to be a top-3 scorer at the position when healthy. Even with more target competition than peak years, he remains Lamar’s preferred option in high-leverage situations (red zone/third down), which is what separates elite fantasy TEs. At his slightly higher market value, you’re paying for immediate weekly edge and higher touchdown equity.
Hockenson’s value is built on repeatable volume and route participation, and Minnesota has historically fed the TE position in the passing game when it needs a reliable chain-mover. His profile is less touchdown-dependent than Andrews because he can get there on targets/receptions, which is a strong weekly-floor trait in PPR formats. At a small discount, he’s a cleaner “set-and-forget” starter if you’re prioritizing stability and cost efficiency.
Andrews by a hair for the higher spike-week/TD equity, unless you can take Hockenson plus a sweetener.
Hockenson, because he’s cheaper and more likely to retain value as a volume-based asset you can later flip.
With only an 8.8% gap, prefer Hockenson if you can add anything meaningful on top; otherwise take Andrews for the higher weekly advantage.
Worth more?
Andrews is worth a bit more, but the difference is small enough that roster build and add-ons should decide it.
Trade?
If you have Andrews, target Hockenson plus a 2nd (or equivalent depth piece); if you have Hockenson, only add a small piece to get Andrews.
Superflex?
In SF the gap matters even less because QB/WR premiums dominate, so treat them as near-tiers and focus on extracting extra value in the swap.
