Colston Loveland holds a 19.2% edge in Superflex dynasty value.Updated 9/27/2026
Loveland is priced like an elite dynasty TE already, and the 22-year-old age curve plus presumed long runway can justify paying up if you believe he becomes a true target-earning focal point. In TE-premium builds, a young TE who can command volume is one of the few weekly edge positions, and the market is signaling he’s that bet. If you’re rebuilding and want maximum insulation/ceiling, he fits the profile—just understand you’re paying for projection more than proven NFL dominance.
LaPorta has already shown he can be a difference-making fantasy TE at the NFL level, which matters more than age in a position with high bust rates. Detroit’s offense is stable and productive, giving him a clearer path to bankable weekly startability and TD access than almost any speculative option. At a materially lower SF value, he offers superior points-per-cost and less uncertainty, even if his absolute ceiling is more environment-dependent.
LaPorta—proven scoring in a strong offense at a big discount is the better bet for points and portfolio risk on a contender.
Loveland—if you’re intentionally swinging for a multi-year cornerstone and can absorb volatility, the younger asset at a premium can make sense.
At a 40% gap, it’s not close: take LaPorta unless you strongly prefer the age/ceiling story and are comfortable paying for projection.
Worth more?
Loveland is valued more in the market, but LaPorta is the better value per expected production at current prices.
Trade?
If you have Loveland, I’d look to tier down to LaPorta plus a meaningful add; if you have LaPorta, I wouldn’t add much (if anything) to get to Loveland.
Superflex?
In SF, TE premiums matter but QB/WR values dominate, so the discount on LaPorta is even more appealing relative to paying top-market for Loveland.
