The Case for Dak Prescott
Dak is the bet on bankable QB1/2 production in Superflex. He’s tied to an aggressive pass environment and has already shown he can carry weekly ceilings. At 33, the window is shorter, but the scoring is still the point in a contender build. The market gap is justified because he’s the safer weekly start.
The Case for Sam Darnold
Darnold is the cheaper bet on a usable starter run, not a franchise cornerstone. He’s younger and the cost is palatable if you’re insulating risk with extra picks/players. But his range of outcomes is wide and the floor is brutal if the team pivots. You’re paying for a potential bridge QB2, not stability.
Verdict by Team Situation
If you're contending: Dak Prescott—take the higher weekly ceiling and lower volatility in Superflex lineups.
If you're rebuilding: Sam Darnold—only if you’re converting Dak into Darnold plus real insulation (1st/strong 2nd+), otherwise keep the premium asset.
If value is close: Not close in value or reliability; Dak is the clear dynasty Superflex preference at a 30% gap.
FAQ
Is Dak Prescott worth more than Sam Darnold? Yes—Dak’s week-to-week startability and proven ceiling carry more value in Superflex. Darnold needs team-context and job-security to cooperate to match it.
Should I trade Dak Prescott for Sam Darnold? Only if you’re getting Darnold plus meaningful added value (premium pick/young core piece). Straight up is a value leak.
